Going Local
Posted on 3 Sep 2010 by Chris Rydburg.
Yesterday marked a historic day in Nashville Predator's history. The local ownership group now owns more than 95% of franchise shares. I repeat, local businessmen own 95% of the Nashville Predators. While this blog could cover all the little details and misconceptions about this purchase, I have confidence that the committed fans are familiar enough with the situation to know all the det...

Predators line projections, rumors, and standing predictions!

Here is my take on what the lineup will be opening day... Sullivan Lombardi Hornqvist Kostitsyn Legwand Ward Dumont Wilson Erat Smithson Goc Tootoo Weber/Suter Klein/Bouillon Parent/Franson Rinne Dekanich If you ask me that is pretty solid... but consider the following... Nashville currently has an insane amount of NHL ready forwards who could fill in that fourth/third line...

He still holds the record for most career hat tricks at his alma mater Northeastern University. He was the team’s captain his senior year, where he led the team in scoring with 37 goals in 23 games. He finished his collegiate career with 82 goals resulting in induction into the Northeastern Athletic Hall of Fame in 1997. Upon graduation in 1971, he went on to score 44 goals/40 assists in his ...

Nashville Predators – 10 Remaining Questions
Posted on 20 Jul 2010 by Dave Gutzman.
It has been over 3 months since I last wrote about the Nashville Predators. In those three months, Nashville and the Predators have undergone a dramatic facelift. For Nashville, the 100-year flood that left most regions of the city underwater changed the way Nashvillians looked at themselves and the city. Neighbors helping neighbors. Companies helping companies. Strangers helping stranger...

O’Captain! My Captain!
Posted on 9 Jul 2010 by Chris Rydburg.
Shea Weber was named the Predators' captain last night at the annual Skate of the Union address. Weber became just the fifth captain in franchise history. Take a look at this list: Tom Fitzgerald, 1998–2002 Greg Johnson, 2002–06 Kimmo Timonen, 2006–07 Jason Arnott, 2007–10 Shea Weber, 2010-present As a fan, I couldn't be happier with the pick. Weber is dedicated to this...

Preds stand pat
Posted on 2 Jul 2010 by Chris Rydburg.
The Nashville Predators signed forward Jonas Andersson from the KHL yesterday. Andersson is a Preds prospect from the 1999 draft (2nd round). He signed a one way deal worth $675,000. Andersson played in Nashville for five games (failed to score a single point) a few years back. Poile still needs to sign a veteran goaltender to back up Pekka Rinne. We are still waiting to hear about p...

Roaring Back

The Predators decided to get a bit offensive (haha haha please tell me you laughed) in this year's draft by selecting four forwards and only two defenseman. The Predators chose to select a very large winger with their first round pick. A bulky winger is something they have needed to draft since the unfortunate departure of Scotty Hartnell. I would like to take this opportunity to welcome Aus...

David Poile Speaks!
Posted on 21 Jun 2010 by Chris Rydburg.
After a flurry of activity this Father's Day weekend, Predators' GM David Poile wasted no time in making his plans for the team clear. Sorry for the quick points, but I had to take brief notes while he was talking. *Hamhuis trade was in the works for a very long time. Wanted to move Hamhuis during the season (at least that is the vibe I got) but chose not for some reason. He had other off...
